Meet the Whoop Band 5.0 and its many upgrades
Updated
9Product Reviews
The release of the Whoop 5.0 and Whoop 5.0 this May brought a range of new features into the Whoop world. The fitness and health brand also upgraded its technology for existing users.
While some of the upgrades were app-based, some of the newest features are exclusive to the Whoop 5.0 and MG. We're here to talk you through everything you need to know about the latest Whoop experience, including their new subscriptions. And if you're an existing member, there's an option to upgrade, too.
What's new with the Whoop?
The Whoop 5.0 and the Whoop 5.0 have 14 days of battery life compared to the Whoop 4.0's 4-5 days of battery life on a single full charge. The new bands are also sleeker, officially seven per cent smaller than their predecessors. Whoop has also released a new charger, their PowerPack, which holds battery life for 30 days on a single charge, meaning the Whoop 5.0 and MG can last a month without charging. Their previous PowerPack lasted only a week.
The Whoop MG is geared towards those who want health insights. It does this via the Heart Screener and Blood Pressure Insights (more on these in a moment). It makes use of a different band, which is scalloped.
The release of the new wearables has come with a new subscription system. Your initial payment includes the band, and then your ongoing yearly payment allows you continued access to your data via the app. Importantly, the features are categorised within the subscription tiers, which are called One, Peak, and Life.
