If you know me, then you'll know how bad I am at heat-styling my hair... and the reason is twofold.
It is partly because my hair is quite thick and doesn't hold a shape for more than five minutes, but also because I am always in a rush, and a true lazy girl at heart, so each morning I would much rather squeeze in some extra snooze time than be wrestling with a hot tool that probably won't even work.
But, I'd be lying if I said I didn't aspire to be someone who always has their hair styled to perfection, so while hopes were low, when I heard about the ghd Rise, I decided to give it a go.
And spoiler alert: After one use, I am ready to give up every other hair tool I own, because the results are truly that incredible.

Here's why I love it
What makes this tool stand out for me is the unique heated 32mm barrel that heats up to 185 degrees Celsius in just 25 seconds, which works like a curling wand, with the added benefit of 5mm round-brush bristles to shape and smooth the hair as you use it.
Unlike other similar tools, I appreciate that the ghd Rise actually uses heat, as opposed to hot air, because my hair needs all the heat it can get.
My first impression of the tool was that it's super easy to navigate... in fact, there's only one button that switches it on and off!
Once you've turned it on, it only takes a few seconds to heat up before it alerts you with a quick sound that it is ready to go. Given my lack of skill and lazy girl history, I wasn't expecting to love it on the first go, but as soon as I wrapped the first piece of hair around the barrel and revealed the results, I knew I was in for a treat.
I love the look of a soft, bouncy blowout, so with each curl, I was trying to replicate this look by flicking the ends out and creating a rounded look around my face.

After about 10 to 15 minutes, I was left with a faux bouncy blowout that had my hair looking effortlessly chic!
Now that the ghd Rise had passed the first step, next came the wear test, because even though it was quick and easy to use, I needed to see if it was truly going to last.
After styling on Saturday morning, I went to a long lunch with friends where we were sitting by the beach and exposed to the wind, which had me constantly tugging and flattening my hair to keep it in place.
Surely this would be the end of that freshly styled hair, right?
Wrong! My hair bounced back to its freshly styled shape instantly, and even after that, it went on to remain styled all the way until Monday night, when I decided it was definitely time for a wash, but honestly, it probably could have gone another day.
