Dyson has officially dropped their brand-new Airwrap, promising a lighter and faster styling experience than its predecessor. 

The Dyson Airwrap Co-anda 2x features Dyson's most powerful and fastest hair care motor to date, which generates double the air pressure to make the hair-wrapping process quicker. It dries hair just like a conventional high-performance hair dryer while styling simultaneously – saving you precious time.

What's the hype with the Airwrap?

First released in October 2018, the Dyson Airwrap was revolutionary in personal hair styling. Using the Coanda effect, it was the first styler to attract hair to its attachments, allowing the strand to wrap around the barrel, leaving users with pretty effortless curls. It also had brush attachments, which are still a big part of the new iteration.

The Airwrap helped countless women with their styling technique, allowing them to say goodbye to salon blowouts and style their hair at home. 

However, the Airwrap came with a pretty hefty price tag, and still does. You can buy the original Airwrap for $565, reduced from $849. The Airwrap i.d. Multistyler and Dryer still sits at $849, while the Airwrap Co-anda 2x costs $999.

What's new with this Airwrap?

The Airwrap Co-anda 2x has been re-engineered to be faster and smarter, with a connected app that literally helps you to style your hair.

It features Radio-Frequency Identification, which means the attachments can automatically adjust to your styling needs based on your hair type. These presets are saved in the My Dyson app and are adjustable as needed.

The motor of the Airwrap Co-anda 2x has been re-engineered, and spins at 150,000rpm – that's nine times faster than a Formula 1 car. This means a stronger airflow to allow for straighter styles.

Speaking of straight, the Airwrap Co-anda 2x features a straightening attachment – the first airwrap to have one! The AirSmooth2x attachment features two jets of air, providing tension to create straighter styles. The arms clamp and unclamp automatically, an aspect that differentiates it from the Dyson Airstrait.

Meanwhile, the updated curling barrels can be activated with a single button, adjusting heat and airflow to wrap and curl your hair automatically according to a personalised curling sequence (known as the 'i.d. curl'). It will wrap, set and release your hair automatically, taking the time and practice out of perfecting your Airwrap routine.
