Jenny Schon is a newsroom all-rounder, born and raised in Perth, Western Australia.
During her Bachelor of Arts degree at Curtin University, she was named ‘2021 Journalism Student of the Year’. She built experience across all platforms, reporting for Post Newspapers and 10 News Perth, and coordinating the news team at RTRFM 92.1.
Upon graduation, she moved to Geraldton to cut her teeth in country news as a Video Journalist for 7News Regional WA, before becoming the TV station’s first Perth-based Video Journalist and a weekend reporter. The role saw her pitch film and edit multiple politics, crime and court stories daily, often travelling the state to bring local stories to life. Eventually, she presented the news live to Regional WA out of Bunbury and filled in as the news producer.
