Jamie Freestone has been a broadcast journalist in Perth for more than two decades. He joined Nine News in 2023 as Senior Reporter.
The highlights of his journalism career include reporting on the drug smuggling trial of Perth Grandmother Donna Nelson in Japan, meeting and interviewing Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli and reporting on 'Dinner in the Sky' in Venice.
Prior to entering the world of television broadcasting, Jamie completed a Graduate Diploma in Journalism at Curtin University.
Not long after finishing his studies, Jamie was offered a position with Southern Cross Broadcasting as a general reporter and newsreader for Radio 6PR and 96fm. He then spent more than seven years as a reporter with Ten News before working with Seven News as a senior reporter.
Jamie is interested in architecture and the built environment and holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Construction Management and Economics.
Jamie enjoys learning about other cultures and travelling overseas. He has a flair for languages and speaks Italian and Japanese.
