Zara launch online store in Australia

Lauren Golman

Seven years ago, Zara opened its doors Down Under.

The fashion giant currently has seven stores across Australia and as if fast fashion wasn't fast enough, today, it's launched online.

“It's going to be so much choice and so much variety,” fashion stylist  Natja Gougoulas told A Current Affair.

However, the launch comes at time when it's been tough competition for international retailers in Australia - Topshop has begun closing its stores, while H&M looks to be heading in the same direction.

So, what is it about Zara that we can't seem to get enough of?

“I think what it does is gives more variety than our standard brands,” Natja said, pointing out the Spanish retailer will offer new stock every two weeks.

“I think fashion outlets here need to realise…people do get bored and we live in an instant society,” she said, adding: “I think with Zara it is very much fast fashion but there is quite a little bit of quality behind it as well.”
