Ah, dating apps.
They can be the vessel that brings you the love of your life... but also, more often than not, they can be a cesspool of tragic fat-shaming, sexism and cruel comments.
From Tinder and Hinge to Bumble, women all over the world have shared their horrible experiences with dating apps.

'Worst men ever'
US woman Kate Langley was encouraged by friends to join the dating app Hinge.
But she was left immediately disappointed with a mean message written by her match, Victor.
One of the first notes she received read: "Your eyes are so far apart, you look weird and funny."
The man then added: "But also nice at the same time with that smile."
Langley shared her experience on TikTok, sharing a screenshot of the message in a video along with the description: "Is this negging or an insecure man?"
She added in the caption: "When my friends tell me hinge has the best people when in fact it has the worst men ever???"
Meant for someone else?
Samantha thought her date was the perfect gentleman before they met up for dinner.
The US woman had been exchanging text messages with a man named Jake and planned to meet for a drink after work.
His initial messages were sweet, with him describing her as "beautiful" in the lead up to their date.
But things turned sour when Jake accidentally sent a nasty text message to Samantha which was clearly meant for someone else.
"I'm sure you look beautiful either way. I'm a lucky guy to get to take you out," one of his texts read.
Then, just three hours later, Jake sent a shocking message which had been accidentally sent to Samantha.
Alongside a photo of Samantha – likely from her dating app profile – the man wrote that she was a "solid 4".
"No bro, she's a solid 4 and I would for sure keep it on the low but desperate times call for desperate measures and beggars cant be choosers," his unintentional text read. "All I saw was tits and an easy lay."
Clearly realising he had sent the text to Samantha instead of its intended recipient, Jake tried to cover up his tracks in a follow-up message.
"Damn I'm sorry I didn't mean to send that to you… I was talking about someone else and clicked your picture on accident. My bad."
Needless to say, they never went on that date.

Dating app user Elizabeth was sent a link by her potential date to fill out an application, with all sorts of questions about her personality.
She shared the questionnaire on TikTok, scrolling through the extensive document, captioning it: "Guy on Tinder sent me literal dating application."
Most of the questions are focused on popular culture, asking the woman what her favourite Justin Bieber song is and why, as well as rather intrusive questions about her employment.
Family ties
Kalynn opened the Tinder app and was horrified to find her younger brother was one of her matches.
"What the flip are you doing on here?" she asked her sibling, who apparently wasn't even old enough to use the app.

More fat-shaming
This woman, Em, shared horrifying screenshots of the the moment her Tinder match called her "slightly obese."
His very first message was a pointed insult about her weight.
"Hey baby put down that cupcake and sprint to my house," he wrote to Em.
Em was confused at first, but she eventually got the picture after his final, fat-shaming message.
It's been a while
This Tinder user knew she recognised her match.
Her potential date on the app was actually her first kiss from seventh grade.
