Gold Coast grandmother blocked from Instagram

A Gold Coast grandmother has been banned from Instagram for 10 months for posting a racy photo of herself wrapped up in a sheet.

The social media platform claims the snap goes against its community guidelines, but to the untrained eye the picture is very similar to the rest of the photos posted by 49-year-old Gina Stewart who's been left angry and confused.

The Maxim Hot 100 Model who's been dubbed "world's hottest grandma' has since unleashed at the double standards of what she is calling "the huge Goliath Corporation".

Gina became 'insta-famous' last year after posting a series of sexy bikini pictures which shot her to fame around the world.

But last month Instagram banned one particularly racy photo from Gina's account and has slapped her with a 10-month "shadow ban" which she claims is causing her to lose followers.

An Instagram shadow-ban renders your hashtags undiscoverable to anyone who doesn't follow you. This means only your followers will be able to see your feed and not the entire Instagram community.

Eager to keep followers before any more disappear Gina has posted a heartfelt plea for support from her followers, while slamming Instagram for it's confusing ban.

"What's the world coming to when a glamorous post gets banned and then automatically registers me with another shadow ban," Gina wrote.

"Was it because my hips are positioned suggestively Instagram? Or is it my facial expression Instagram? I'm confused, I am covered completely! Or is it just too suggestive having a sheet instead of clothes Instagram?"

"I guess I have no freedom of self expression and have to comply with this new cultural norm being placed on each and every one of us in this highly censored political correct culture."

Her fans have been quick to jump on the bandwagon against Instagram sending messages of support to the upset grandmother.

"Instagram is way too overly sensitive. We can't even use hashtags anymore because we're 'shadow-banned'. We're just lucky beautiful women like yourself is all our account needs", one follower wrote.

"That's completely ridiculous!!! Your posts even though are quite hot are always tasteful and I'd say well within any dumb guidelines. You're not showing anything inappropriate so I can't see any reason for this ridiculousness to occur," another wrote.

Gina has since taken matters into her own hands and says since she has changed her gender on Instagram to male she has not had any posts removed, according to news.com.au.

"I am amazed – just by having a virtual sex change my visibility has increased again," she said. It's as if the algorithm has left me alone – by identifying as male it meant the Instagram algorithms saw that and went go around me to the next woman."
