Wife considers leaving husband over laundry feud
There’s a laundry list of reasons why you might leave someone.
And for one woman, that extends to laundry itself.
The frustrated wife recently posted to Mumsnet, revealing she is considering leaving her husband for repeatedly ruining her hand wash only underwear.
She says while she knows it “sounds dramatic” she “can’t stand his incompetence anymore”.
The couple have been together for years but this “first world problem” has been rearing its head every year for the past decade, she explains.
“I have lost count of the number of times he has done this. It is just such a waster and will need replacing.”
“How hard is it to check a label? I am so angry.”
Her comments have received mixed responses, with some accusing her of being a “diva” and others taking her side.
“Your dearest husband does the laundry, in my eyes that would make him a price among men and a definite keeper. Just buy machine washable knickers,” one user writes.
“Does he hurt you in any way, if not then stop being such a diva and go to a supermarket and buy knickers like most of the human race that can be chucked in the weekly wash.”
But others agreed with the wife, saying it was “bizarre” and that he would fetch things from her hand wash basket after she had clearly separated them.
Some only suggested solutions, such as giving him “other jobs” or making him buy the replacement set. Or, making a clear ‘do not touch’ pile.
Responding to the comments, the wife says while she knows it’s a “first world problem” she was “just so disappointed he treats me and my things with such disregard”.
