The mother-of-four had been sleeping with her lover for over a year when he tried to end the relationship. Laura Arnold, who was married when the affair began, responded to the rejection by sharing screenshots on Facebook and Twitter of her messages with the man and nude pictures of him in the shower, which she captioned “lying, cheating b-----d”.
Arnold, from London, demanded $10,000 to take down the photos, saying “Peace is costly but it is worth the expense.”

Darren Watts, prosecuting, said: “The complainant said he did not want any more images to be shown and she explained that the only way he could stop it was to ask how much money she would want to take it all down.

“The defendant replied I do not know, let me ask your wife what she thinks. She then sent a message to the complainant's wife saying, ‘It seems your husband is trying to silence me’.”

Kiroulus Abadir, mitigating, said: “Ms Arnold has expressed remorse. She is a mum of four and she is the only carer for those children.“The photo was to show they had been in a relationship for over a year and she thought the best way to express that was to show the photos and text messages.”

Judge French said: “This is a despicable offence. You set out to cause distress and embarrassment not only to your partner but also to his family, it is unforgivable.”
