Bride slammed for wanting to use live puppies as wedding décor

A bride has been slammed after revealing on Facebook that she wants to use live puppies as décor for her upcoming wedding.

The woman, who has not been identified, explained that as animal lovers, she and her fiancé were keen to incorporate the pets into their wedding day.

But rather than have their own dogs play a role in the ceremony, the bride said she wanted to find baby puppies she could tie to each table at the wedding reception.

"We love puppies and thought it would be cute to tie a puppy to each table for people to love on at our reception," the bride wrote on Facebook.

The only problem?

"Where the heck would I get a bunch of puppies from?" the bride went on to ask."

"According to our venue, they would have to be tied with [60cm] leads so I guess I need small puppies? Has anyone ever used puppies as decor before?"

Though the bride seems to think it's a cute idea, other Facebook users were quick to point out the glaring issues with her unique wedding idea.

Several pointed out that the puppies would likely end up urinating over the bride's guests, while others mentioned that even tied to tables, the puppies would probably be unruly.

"She's too stupid to adult. I sincerely hope no shelter or breeder ever allows her to add a dog to her household," one person wrote.

"I hope a puppy urinates on her wedding dress," said another.

There's also the issue of the puppies' safety and wellbeing, as having small dogs tied up on short leads all day while wedding guests fawn over them would likely be distressing for the pups.

"It's just inhumane," one said.

Others said that a guest could accidentally feed the puppies something that could poison them, while any children at the reception could accidentally hurt them if not supervised.

"This would stress the poor puppies out terribly and they can get hurt or killed! Factor that in with how some people foolishly feed dogs foods they shouldn't eat (garlic, onion, sweet, dairy)," one said.

Fortunately, it's unlikely the bride will be able to source puppies to display as décor at her wedding, so it's unlikely she'll be able to go through with her plan.
