US woman gives birth without knowing she's pregnant

A woman from Houston, US is sharing her incredible story of giving birth to a surprise baby.

She says she had no idea she was pregnant until she delivered 2.26kg baby Jaxson on Mother's Day weekend.

Cindy and her boyfriend Chris didn't have the usual nine months to prepare for a new baby, with the instant mum not experiencing any of the normal pregnancy symptoms.

"We don't have any ultrasounds, no heart beats, no pregnancy photos," Chris told local news station KTRK.

"There was no sign, there was no kicking, she gained 4.5kg through the entire pregnancy, she had her little woman time show up every month."

Cindy says the day Jaxson was born started as normal.

"I started getting cramps so I got in the bathtub as I normally would and then not even an hour later he was here," she said.

"I never felt like I had to push but I felt like my body was pushing. He came very quick after that."

Jaxson never cried but he was awake and alert.

Cindy called emergency services and waited to be taken to the hospital while Chris was away visiting family.

When Cindy told him the news, he thought she was joking.

"She ended up FaceTiming me with the doctors and that's when it set in that hey, she isn't making this up at all."

A sweet surprise for the couple who are now scrambling to catch up with the duties of parenting.

"We ended up making a baby registry and we've just been getting packages after packages after packages," Cindy said.

And still when they tell friends they're now parents, it takes a while for anyone to believe them.

"He's just so perfect and healthy," the new mum says of their little miracle.
