Take that stepdad, you’re in jail and I’m a university graduate

Twitter has blown up over a university graduate who got revenge over his stepdad in the most fitting way. Four years ago Daivon Reeder’s step dad told him he’d never graduate, he shouldn’t even bother going to orientation but now Reeder is a criminal justice graduate and his step dad is in jail.

The tweet, which has 149k retweets and 605k likes, has been overwhelmed with praise and, oddly, almost as many people commenting how much Reeder looks like NBA star Vince Carter.

Reeder told NBC that he didn’t publish the tweet to publically slam his step dad, his aim was to motivate others like him.

"I wouldn’t bash him," Reeder told the news channel. "The last few days I’ve been thinking about all the trials and tribulations I’ve been going through. It was just one of those things that stuck out to me."

"Stuff happens to you. You can run left or right. I ran right in a positive way," the graduate said.
