First dates are often nerve-wracking, and preparing for them can lead to many anxiety-inducing questions. Will the person live up to expectations? Will there be chemistry? Will you be leaving heartbroken?

The venue, however, is usually decided on well in advance, and is not something often questioned. But one woman has been pleasantly surprised with where her date asked her to show up.

"A guy from Hinge asked me on a date and here we are. This is where he wanted to go. So I'm here!" a woman named Amber revealed on TikTok, in a video which shows her in a Target car park. Watch above.

Most viewers said the date location was a "green flag," but some were confused at the choice.

"I've been saying for ages I think target is a great first date," one user wrote. "You can learn so much about a person based on how they shop at Target."

"I've been on a date to Target and it was actually the best date I had with that person. Loved it," another wrote.

One user, however, commented: "What?? What's wrong with dinner?"

Amber said the date went pretty well in a follow-up video, and it was largely due to the location. Watch above.

"It helped conversation because we could just like point to things and be like 'Oh, have you ever played this game?' or whatever," Amber said.

"If you need a new date idea, try it out!"

As to if the experience was good enough to warrant a second date, Amber has not confirmed to her followers yet — but she did say in the caption, "Maybe next time we'll go to Home Goods."

"If a man suggested Target as a first date, I'd propose to him right there in the book aisle," one viewer said.

Another said: "Plenty of people around so I would definitely feel safer [in Target] than a walk in the park!"

One user suggested their own version of a Target date, which they said they have previously done.

"Set a $ amount & buy each other 3 gifts from 3 categories," they wrote.

"Like $20, 1 snack, 1 home item, 1 cosmetic item. Meet back at the in-store Starbucks & swap gifts with explanations of why you thought they'd need/want the item. Fun activity & reveals a lot about the person."
