This baker makes internet trolls (literally) eat their words

We all know the world of social media isn't for the faint-hearted.

But what if all those sharp-tongued trolls and keyboard warriors had to eat their words once in a while? Well they might, if Kat Thek has anything to do with it.

The New York baker is the founder of Troll Cakes — half bakery, half detective agency — which takes an internet comment, bakes it into cake (using colourful frosting to spell out the spiteful words) and delivers it to said troll.

Don't know the troll's address? No worries. Troll Cakes can also track down the person's home or work address for you. 

"When you open it up, [the box] looks like 100 percent good news," Thek told NPR.

"And then you see a screen grab of your comment, and it says, 'Congratulations! Your Internet comment has been made into a Troll Cake'."

Thek is even taking on master troll US president Donald Trump, frequently sending cakes to the White House on behalf of people infuriated by his speeches or tweets. She calls this deal the 'Tiny Hands Special'. 

Trump's infamous quotes such as 'I don't stand by anything' or his tweet 'I have never seen a thin person drinking Diet Coke', have all been baked onto cakes and sent to Washington, she confirms.

Thek said she was inspired to launch the innovative business when she saw a rude comment on Dolly Parton's Facebook, which read: 'You're momma be so disappointed in you.'

So, she put those words on a cake and sent it to the Facebook person. And, Troll Cakes was born. 

Thek describes the internet as a "bottomless pit of mean things", but says she is under no illusion her cakes will "cure the world of pettiness". 

Rather, she just intends to poke fun at these people.

And, of course, to make them eat their words. Literally.
