The Queen needs someone to tweet for her...and she'll pay
Love Twitter? Obsessed with the royals? Then we have found the perfect job for you!
Queen Elizabeth II is currently advertising for someone to run her official social media channels.
A job ad has appeared on the Royal Household website for a 'Digital Communications Officer'. The successful candidate will join a "fast paced" and "dynamic" team at the Palace, taking charge of Her Majesty's Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube accounts. Potential employees can expect a $48,000 salary plus 33 days holiday a year — and other perks.
But, don't expect to be snapping selfies with Kate and Wills. The role is all about documenting the Queen's official work such as state visits, award ceremonies and royal engagements from the sidelines.
"It’s knowing your content will be viewed by millions", the ad reads. "It’s finding new ways to maintain The Queen’s presence in the public eye and on the world stage.
"It's the sheer variety of challenges you'll face. This is what makes working for the Royal Household exceptional."
Tempted to apply? The Palace stipulates that candidates must be educated to degree-level, have proven experience running websites, and boast good video and photography skills.
