'Outraged and disgusted': Shopper discovers truth behind $1 Temu necklace
One unsuspecting detail in a $1 Temu necklace has led one shopper to a shocking truth.
Bella Moscardini, a woman from the UK, share her discovery on TikTok.
She showed the "hippie" necklace, which was stated to be made of resin on the site and set her back 57 pence (approx. $1), to the camera.

She was only tipped off to something being wrong when she was "taking it off and I get a whiff, a strong stench of this tooth on the end."
She was confused, as resin is largely scentless and most of the time when ordering off Temu, products are made of plastic if advertised as such.
She also shared photos from the listing, which described it as a "1pc Vintage Style Men's Multi-Layer Braided Faux Leather Necklace with Resin Pendant."
But Moscardini belatedly noticed one detail as she scrolled – each image of the tooth looked different to each other
"It's also weird how each pendant on each slide is completely different," she commented, noting that if it was a mass produced pendant then producers would not be bothered to make each pendant look different.
"It's crazy, they look like they've been taken from different teeth," she said, adding that the "natural decay" at the top of the tooth made it seem like it has "been yanked out of a mouth."

She decided to test her theory, taking a lighter to the pendant, expecting the charm to melt if it was in fact resin.
Instead, "the most disgusting smell comes off it, like you wouldn't believe. I have double triple checked and it reeks."
In a follow-up video, Moscardini claimed that she took it to her college where she got a biology teacher to look at the charm under a microscope, with the academic claiming that it was a real animal tooth, likely from a carnivore. She plans to take the "charm" to a vet to confirm further.

She shared a screengrab of the advertisement for the necklace in question. TikTok
"I want as many people as possible to see this," she said, "I'm outraged and disgusted and not happy".
Commenters were left aghast at the discovery, with one saying, "THATS ACTUALLY TERRIFYING?? I DONT EVEN WANNA THINK [ABOUT} HOW THEY GOT AHOLD OF THE TOOTH IN THE FIRST PLACE."
Another added, "If I got that I'd [actually] cry," to which Moscardini replied, "I literally want to cry it's so horrible."
A spokesperson for Temu told The New York Post in response to the controversy, "At Temu, we provide a 90-day money-back guarantee for items that are not as described, are damaged or do not arrive. Customers can contact our customer service through the app or website."
