Wedding crasher causes mayhem and goes viral

A video of a woman who reportedly crashed a wedding in Taiwan has gone viral.

Probably because of her extraordinary tantrum.

The footage, reportedly taken at a lavish wedding banquet in Taoyuan, begins with the woman sitting calmly alone at a table and looking at her phone.

Nothing to see here – so far.

Except, as quickly becomes apparent, she's not meant to be there.

After being asked to leave (by the woman in red, visible in the background in the later images below), she becomes irritated.

She gestures fiercely at several men across the table. One steps towards her, brandishing what honestly looks like a knife – probably a regular piece of dinner cutlery, but still. This man is held back his neighbour, a guy with a camera (and presumably a wish to get out of this wedding not covered in cake and/or blood) and another guest.

It's Shakespearean stuff.

But despite their protests, the woman doesn't budge.

Another man steps forward, hands politely clasped, to request once more that she go.

It's a bridge too far for the woman in blue.

Exasperated, she does what anyone in this situation would do, probably: grabs her glass of juice, throws it at the man and hurls the table-place sign onto the ground.

If there's one way to seem like a legitimate wedding guest, this is probably it, right?

She gathers up her bags in a fury – and, according to Taiwan News, the wedding cookie box from the family next to her, and some balloons – and storms out.

And then, just like that, the mystery woman is gone, leaving a bemused line of onlookers in her wake.

Taiwan News says wedding crashing is becoming more and more common in the country, as people try and sneak in to cop a fancy free dinner.

But according to the Daily Mail, the woman insists she was a genuine member of the wedding party, which she says was her aunt's .

The Mail says the woman confirmed online rumours about her identity on Facebook - but apprently the groom, a Mr Huang, told a local news station neither he nor his bride had ever met her.

Either way, seems like a lot of trouble to go to for some free cake.
