Tamara Ecclestone: Inside the life of an heiress

Tamara Ecclestone might be relatively unknown to most, but the heiress is one of the richest women in the world. 

A new UK TV series, Tamara’s World, takes the viewers inside the life of a woman worth almost $400m. The daughter of Formula One racing boss Bernie Ecclestone, Tamara lives on the most expensive street in London, in a house worth nearly $120m.

The 33-year-old lives with her husband, Jay Rutland and daughter Sophia, and admits that the family only live in three of the 57 rooms in their vast home.

That doesn’t mean the rest of the house doesn’t get its use, though. Tamara made headlines after turning her “waste of space” (the family never used it) swimming pool into a giant, pink soft play area for her daughter. Needless to say, three-year-old Sophia (or Fifi, for short), loved it. 

Tamara also has a huge wardrobe, stocked up with over 80 sets of Victoria’s Secret pyjamas, countless shows and an entire wall dedicated to Chanel handbags.

The family also has over 50 staff, including two assistants: Dani and Megan. They told the show: “We have Jonah the chef, and he’s amazing. We have a dog walker, but we’re not too sure why we have nine or 10 dogs.

“It all feels homely, although there are lots of people.”

And Tamara says that, despite the family’s wealth, it’s not money that’s important to her, claiming that she was “meant to be” a mother. 

Speaking to The Sun's Fabulous magazine, she said thay her priorities have changed and she no longer obsesses over her weight.

“I spent my 20s all about juicing this, that and the other, and now it’s not something I lose any sleep over,” she said. “[Positive body image] starts in the home with a loving, supportive family. 

“Being pretty and thin aren’t priorities in life, and I don’t want Fifi to grow up with those words constantly being reinforced. As a woman, there are a lot more powerful things to be than pretty and thin.”
