Talking Honey: Should you take your husband’s name?
On Talking Honey we're asking, what's in a name? I'm married, but I chose not to take my husband's surname, nor my husband before that. Yep I would have had a lot of names.
To me it’s like Coke changing its name to Pepsi. It doesn’t make a lick of sense.
Luckily my husband doesn't have a problem with me keeping the name I've grown up with. And if he did we obviously wouldn’t be a great match.
I understand that many women choose to keep their name for work reasons and, sometimes, simply because they're attached to it.

I know plenty of women who keep their original name at work but use their husband’s name at home and so they have the same last name as the kids.
However, for some men, the thought of their wife NOT taking their name is unacceptable. But is this an outdated way to think?
Long gone are the days of marrying to form allegiances with other families. And if it’s not a sexist notion then why aren’t more men taking their wives names?
As you’ll see in the video above, Shauna Anderson, Ben Fordham, Jo Abi and I didn’t exactly see eye to eye on this.
