Sylvia Jeffreys campaigns for Youngcare following long lunch

Sylvia Jeffreys has spoken of her dedication to Youngcare, a charity which raises money for young Australians with high care needs.

The TODAY presenter attended the Youngcare long lunch, where she was inspired by 26-year-old Emily Dash; a writer, actor and motivational speaker, who has cerebral palsy and campaigns for Youngcare.

She explained that a care grant allowed her to install an automatic door at the front of her house, which she explained makes her feel safe enough to stay in the house on her own.

Sylvia became the first ever Youngcare national ambassador this year, saying at the time: "“I consider it an immense privilege to take on this new role with Youngcare; a team I’ve been proud to represent for many years."
