Aussie models Georgia Gibbs and Kate Wasley will appear in Sports Illustrated

Georgia Gibbs and Kate Wasley have taken their body positivity message to the world stage.

The Aussie models and best friends are the latest rookies to be announced for the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition for 2018.

Today they posted a video of them both in Aruba during a photoshoot for the bikini-clad magazine, which has a global audience.

The pair wrote: “THE MAGAZINE that embraces beauty with no boundaries, shape, size, background, markings... Equal for all and we are so proud to be a part of a brand that represents women everywhere. We love you @si_swimsuit.”

The duo from Perth have already gained a cult-like following on social media after making headlines earlier this year when Gibbs, a size 6, was accused of ‘fat-shaming’ Wasley.

Gibbs had posted a photo to Instagram showing the pair during a night out on a boat in the Sydney harbour.

Many accused Gibbs of photoshopping the image to make herself look thinner while making Wasley, who is a size 16, look bigger.

But it was one comment that really got to Gibbs, she says, which read, "What kind of friend are you?".

Gibbs hit back at her critics in a subsequent post, saying she was heart broken by the comments, adding "Kate and I are best friends why would I do that?"

Both said they were “shocked” by the reaction to the first photo, which Gibbs explained purely showed two different body types.

From there, Anybody Co was born — a website and social platform celebrating that “beauty has no boundaries” — which has even caught the eye of celebrities such as Khloe Kardashian.

Their mantra includes “'self love, societal acceptance, and learning to quit the comparisons and love, any BODY'.

They have also appeared on the cover of magazines and interviewed on E! News.

But this might be their biggest win yet.
