Spoiled teenager lashes out after $6600 monthly allowance is slashed to $1330

A US teen is making her mother’s life “a living hell” after her monthly allowance was slashed from $6600AUD to $1330.
 
Appearing on Dr Phil this week, 15-year-old Nicolette says her reduced pocket money makes her feel “like a peasant” and sees her constantly run out of money.

The self-described ‘Beverley Hills brat’s wardrobe contains items from high-end designers like Chanel, Gucci, Celine and Louis Vuitton, with single items costing up to $4000.

Her mother Nina knows Nicolette is “beyond entitled”, and admits she has always given her daughter whatever she wanted.

“I still feel guilty about being a single mum, working six days a week not being at home with her,” Nina tells Dr Phil.

Realising her daughter needed to start becoming more self-sufficient, the single mum decided it was time to scale back her allowance.

“That went over just like a tonne of bricks,” she says.

Nicolette admits she’s been making her mother’s life “a living hell” over the decision, adding, “I have my ways.”

During Tuesday night’s episode, the talk show host instructed Nicolette to volunteer at a homeless shelter to give her a sense of perspective.

He also warned Nina against showering her daughter with material items, encouraging her to give her “more love and less money”.
