Fiancee of star soccer player catches mistress on Valentine's Day

The fiancée of Premier League soccer star Saido Berahino has called off their wedding, according to The Sun, after allegedly finding Berahino's 'mistress' at his home on Valentine's Day.

Which would be upsetting, at best.

Stephania Christoforou, 26, reportedly stayed outside Berahino's home for close to three hours, yelling out unpleasant messages to the woman inside, 28-year-old Chelsea Lovelace.

A woman believed to be Berahino's sister then arrived "in an effort to bring calm to the situation", but to no avail. (Berahino was apparently safely out of the way at a training session during all this.)

The Sun reported that Berahino had been messaging Florida-based model Lovelace on social media since November 2017 after discovering her photos on Instagram.

On the day she was 'discovered', she had come straight from the airport.

A 'source' (you know, those reliable, accountable fonts of knowledge) close to Christoforou told the Sun she was devastated, and removed the 'engaged' status from her Facebook photo on the evening of her discovery.

"At the same time it’s nothing new," the 'source' said. "She knew right from the start how he was."

Christaforou, managing director of popular Birmingham cocktail spot Nuvo Bar, had been linked to the 24-year-old Stoke City forward for some time, but their engagement became public knowledge in June last year.

Last week's events with Lovelace may have been the last straw for Christaforou. She reportedly only just forgave Berahino for the last revelation from the Sun: a recent report alleging that he had taken home a $9,000-per-night escort just weeks after proposing.

The Sun is basically the opposite of Cupid in this situation.

But Berahino's not just in hot water romantically, either.

The pressure is mounting on him career-wise – despite being signed to the team for $21 million at the start of 2017, he is yet to score them a single goal.
