Zara and Mike Tindall were the life of the party on the first day of the Magic Millions Racing Carnival.

Despite the festival having a rocky start with the main event being moved from Queensland's Gold Coast to the Sunshine Coast, the royals were able to have a blast.

Tindall was even seen 'dad dancing' at one of the parties, which remained on the Gold Coast.

The royals posed with other racegoers, with Mike wearing a grey suit with a red handkerchief and a flower for a pop of colour, to match his wife's black midi dress with red flowers attached to the bodice.

Mike had a blast hosting the karaoke competition with horse artist and Billy Slater's wife, Nicole Slater, belting out songs as Zara sat next to him.

He even got up to have a dance, bobbing his head and body around.

They then took the party outside when Aussie legend Daryl Braithwaite performed his iconic song, Horses, which was perfect for the occasion.

Mike was seen high up on a tower near the stage belting the lyrics word for word into his own microphone, before later descending into the crowd and serenading a fan with passion.

The daughter and son-in-law of Princess Anne, the Princess Royal have been regular attendees of the racing event, which is held annually over ten days.

Ahead of this year's festival, she spoke about her family's love of racing and how she has continued the legacy from her late grandmother Queen Elizabeth II and her mother.

"Racing was a big part of her life and she absolutely loved the breeding side of it as well," she told the Telegraph UK of the late Queen.

"She had a big book of names that she had registered and when a foal was born, she'd go through all the names and pick one out, which gave her hours of delight.
