Commoners, rejoice! You may have a chance of becoming a royal after all.

Netflix's controversial series The Crown is looking for its Kate Middleton.

With Season 5 of The Crown — which covers the turmoil of Prince Charles and Princess Diana's marriage breakdown and her death — set to air in November, producers have put out a casting call for actors to play the Duchess of Cambridge in the series' final season.

Season 6 is set to cover the British royal family from 1997 to the early 2000s, which will see the future Duke and Duchess of Cambridge meet at St Andrew's University.

The couple first met in Scotland in 2001, when Prince William and Kate were roughly 19. They got engaged in 2010 and married in 2011.

However, Kate's role in the series would be relatively small, so according to insiders, the series' casting team only want to feature the duchess if they can find an actress who looks almost exactly like her.

Per The Sun, a television insider said: "Having the Duchess of Cambridge starring is an easy win for The Crown, as the creators know it will get more people watching."

The insider noted the storyline would follow William and Kate's romance starting to "blossom," however, since the duchess is not necessarily a "crucial" part of the wider storyline, her presence is being seen as a "bonus."

"They'll only cast someone if they can find the right candidate," the source said.

The Crown last month released a casting call for an actor to play William from ages 16 to 21, and Prince Harry from 16 to 20.

They were looking for actors who have a strong physical resemblance, moreso than those who have had previous acting experience.

Shooting for Season 6, which is the final season, is set to begin in August this year.
