The strict rules enforced by the Queen about Kate's wardrobe

Grandparents generally love to comment on your clothing at any family event – I think we can all agree that wearing ripped jeans is practically asking for it.

But imagine how much you’d cop if your grandma was The Queen, and you, the future King’s wife.

According to celebrity journalist, Ashley Pearson, Her Majesty is more often than not keeping tabs on the fashion worn by Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge.

“Kate Middleton has a whole other set of rules and restrictions,” Pearson tells Quest Red.

“Kate Middleton has to wear her skirts at a certain length.”

Pearson alleges the Queen is vocal about her thoughts on the Duchess’s choice of dresses.

“The Queen is regularly, allegedly, giving notes if she doesn’t like a certain hem, or a certain outfit on Kate or a certain coloured tights.”

The freelance journalist also reports that there are vast differences between the expectations for Kate and her sister-in-law, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex.

“She and Meghan are not on the same page,” says Pearson.

With Prince William next in line for the throne -- after his father Prince Charles – the Duchess of Cambridge will become Queen consort.

Queen consort is a title reserved for the King’s wife. When William is crowned King, Kate will also be given her title in a coronation slightly less grand than William’s.

Although she will not have the title of Queen, Kate will have the same social rank and status of the her husband.

We wonder if she’ll be just as harsh on the fashion choices by her son, Prince George’s, future partner.
