Princess Beatrice's husband Edoardo went to pay tribute to the Queen earlier this week at Green Park, and was completely unrecognised by onlookers.

Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, a property developer who wed the Queen's granddaughter in 2020, stopped by a memorial on Monday to pay his respects and view the thousands of flowers and cards left for the late monarch.

He was photographed squatting down to take a closer look at one of the floral tributes. Despite being dressed in a formal black suit and tie with a pocketsquare, in stark contrast to the casually-dressed people around him, no one gave Mozzi a second look.

Mozzi then joined his wife and many other members of the Royal Family to attend the service at Westminster Hall on Wednesday for the reception of the Queen's coffin.

He also shared a touching tribute to the Queen on Instagram shortly after her death was announced.

"Incredibly hard to process the last 24 hours," he captioned a carousel of photos of the monarch.

"What an incredible woman and extraordinary mark she's left on the entire world. She was the rock on which modern Britain was built."

Mozzi and Princess Beatrice married during COVID lockdowns in 2020. Beatrice gave birth to their daughter, Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi in September last year.

Following the Queen's death and King Charles' ascension to the throne, Princess Beatrice has also been given a royal promotion. She is now a Counsellor of State – meaning she can step in for King Charles III when needed.

Under Queen Elizabeth, Charles, Prince William, Prince Harry and Prince Andrew all held the position of Counsellor of State and could perform the Queen's duties temporarily if she was unable to due to illness or being abroad.

In the wake of the Queen's passing, Beatrice is ninth in line to the throne, but fourth among royals over the age of 21, behind William, Harry, and her father Prince Andrew.

However, Harry predominantly spends his time in the US and Andrew is effectively barred from royal duties in the wake of sexual assault allegations that were settled out of court earlier this year, and his personal ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Camilla, Queen Consort will also be able to fill in for her husband despite not being in the line of succession.

In her new role, Princess Beatrice will be able to attend Privy Council meetings, sign documents and receive information about new ambassadors to the UK on behalf of King Charles.
