The future Queen of Belgium has left a touching handwritten tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, calling the late monarch a role model and inspiration.

Princess Elisabeth, dressed in black and wearing pearl earrings, took time to visit the British Embassy in Brussels to sign a book of condolences for Her Majesty.

"Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has been a role model and a source of inspiration for many of us, young and old," Hola quoted the 20-year-old royal's note as saying.
