Princess Isabella of Denmark turns 18: Inside all of the celebrations
The Danish royal family is marking a milestone, with King Frederik and Queen Mary's second oldest child and first daughter Princess Isabella coming of age.
A series of celebrations is underway for the princess' 18th birthday, including a special performance in her honour at The Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen.
Isabella arrived at the event on April 15 sparkling from head to toe in a dark navy glittering gown and diamond earrings.
Isabella had been expected to wear the Order of the Elephant insignia for the first time, but instead, she borrowed a pair of her mother's diamond earrings for the occasion, which she paired with a black ball gown.
She was joined by her parents King Frederik X and Queen Mary of Denmark, and siblingsPrincess Josephine, Crown Prince Christian and Prince Vincent.
The family looked nothing short of elegant in their outfits – tuxes for the boys, and gowns for Mary and her daughters.
Princess Isabella's glittering tulle dress was designed by Jesper Høvring, one of her mother's go-to designers.
Sister Princess Josephine also wore an outfit by the designer.
The birthday girl was presented with a beautiful pink bouquet as she arrived for the performance.
Queen Mary opted for a skirt and top ensemble by Malene Birger.
Queen Margrethe, Denmark's former queen and Isabella's grandmother, looked elegant in a magenta gown.
Queen Anne-Marie of Greece and Princess Benedikte were also among the family members who attended the performance in honour of Isabella.
Isabella's cousins Count Felix and Count Nikolai of Monpezat also suited up for the occasion.
Their parents, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie, were not in attendance.
The birthday outing comes just over two years after Nikolai and Felix were stripped of their royal titles by Queen Margrethe, along with their siblings.
They were previously Prince Nikolai and Prince Felix.
The decision, announced in 2022, came as a shock to Prince Joachim and his children.
