Hand-me-downs are a rite of passage in every family, even royal ones, it seems.

In the adorable photo Kensington Palace recently released showing Princess Charlotte kissing her newborn brother Prince Louis on the head, eagle-eyed royalists spotted something familiar about the snap.

Taken by mum and keen photographer Catherine the Duchess of Cambridge, the newborn is seen wearing a matching cream jumper and trouser set previously worn by his older sister Princess Charlotte.

As for the young princess, it was noted that her affectionate gesture bared a likeness to a photo depicting older brother George similarly kissing her in 2015, when she was a newborn.

But there was something else the young princess borrowed from her big bro in the latest photo.

The three-year-old is seen sporting the same navy blue cardigan that Prince George, four, previously wore in a Vanity Fair photo shoot celebrating their great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth's 90th birthday.

It's not the first time the royal toddler has borrowed items of clothing from her family members.

Last year, she was spotted wearing a pair of uncle Harry's red buckled shoes while touching down in Warsaw.

With plenty of royal closets at her disposal, something tells us we haven't seen then end of Charlotte pulling looks from her predecessors.
