Prince William 'hopeful' Kate can join him on overseas trips next year
After what he described as a "brutal" year that has "probably been the hardest year in my life" following both his wife and fathers' cancer diagnoses and battles, Prince William is hopefully that next year will bring change for his wife Catherine, Princess of Wales –perhaps in the form of travel.
As part of a wide-ranging interview with UK media outlets travelling with him recently in Cape Town, the royal shared that "hopefully Catherine will be doing a bit more next year, so we'll have some more trips maybe lined up."
One such trip could be to Brazil, where the Prince of Wales is expected to play a key role at the United Nations Climate Change Conference, following in the footsteps of his father, King Charles.

The topic of his grandmother the late Queen Elizabeth's famous speech in Cape Town in 1947 – where she declared over radio that she would dedicate her life to the Commonwealth.
Media pointed out the parallels of William being in the same city 77 years later, now as heir to the British throne, just as she was.
Together with his wife, William said he hopes to revolutionise the role royals have in modern society.
"It's hard to describe what that is all about, but I can only describe what I'm trying to do, and that's I'm trying to do it differently and I'm trying to do it for my generation.
"And to give you more of an understanding around it, I'm doing it with maybe a smaller 'r' in the royal, if you like, that's maybe a better way of saying it.
"So it's more about impact philanthropy, collaboration, convening, and helping people. "And I'm also going to throw empathy in there as well, because I really care about what I do - it helps impact people's lives.

"And I think we could do with some more empathetic leadership around the world. So that's what I'm trying to bring, that's what Catherine is trying to bring as well."
