Imagine you receive a random FaceTime call and on the screen is the future King of England?

One group of schoolchildren don't have to imagine, sharing bizarre footage of Prince William casually giving them a call while at school.

William can be heard asking, "Are you guys doing any work?", with all the kids chiming in with a "No" and laughing.

The royal then jokingly ribs one of the student's mums over her baking skills, sharing, "Your mum is feeding me her cakes. They're not very good, I told her she wouldn't win Bake Off."

Commenters were equally as confused at the Prince of Wales' quick call.

"I am so intrigued to know why the future king of England decided to FaceTime some kids," commented one person.

The person who posted the video then explained that William had been present at their friend's mum's workplace, likely on a royal engagement.

"He is the most random royal ever," said another.

"Seems like a lovely, normal guy," one added.

"I would've straight up asked about the book," one joked, referring to Prince Harry's memoir, Spare.

William is reportedly not always like this, however, with one journalist claiming that both he and his brother were "angry people but in very different ways."

Recalling "a very strange party at Kensington Palace" around 2013, royal reporter and biographer Catherine Mayer shared that "William struck me as one of the most clenched people I had ever come across... Very determined to not show what he was feeling but I picked up on that."

"With Harry, sort of the opposite – he was firing all over the place [but] really kind of engaged with people," she said.

She clarified that the brother's infamous feud is not solely their fault, with a lot of the blame centered on their tumultuous upbringing.

"There's something so painful about the situation because what you see are these two boys who were so incredibly damaged by what happened to their mother," Mayer said.

"I keep trying to explain to people how very strange that royal upbringing is like – the royal upbringing does not equip people to be mentally robust in dealing with those sorts of emotional things, particularly that royal upbringing at that particular time."
