Prince Louis to attend his first big royal event

Prince Louis turned one in April, but he is already set to hit the stage for his first major royal engagement. According to People, the youngest child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge make his Trooping the Colour debut this weekend.

The annual parade is one of the biggest events on the calendar for royal watchers, mainly for the unparalleled Royal Family photo opportunity. All the key figures of the family stand together on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to enjoy the parade, waving to the crowds below who gather to catch a glimpse of the clan.

This year, for the first time, fans will have the opportunity to see Prince William and Kate with all three of their children – George, five, Charlotte, four, and Louis. The event will also likely be the Duchess of Sussex’s first public appearance since the birth of her son Archie Mountbatten-Windsor on May 6.

Trooping the Colour is a long-standing tradition in celebration of the British monarch’s birthday – although Queen Elizabeth’s real birthday is in April.

Fans of the Royal Family have been treated to a few glimpses of Prince Louis lately.

In April, the palace released three new portraits of the prince for his first birthday, all of which were taken by his mother Catherine.

Just days later, another collection of photos was released, showing little Louis playing in the garden at the Chelsea Flower Show with his brother and sister. The ‘woodland’ inspired garden was co-designed by Catherine.

Perhaps when Trooping the Colour rolls around next year, we’ll be seeing little Archie out on the palace balcony as well.
