Prince Harry's plea to supporters after landmark victory

Prince Harry has made a plea to his supporters in a surprise video appearance from his Montecito home.

In a video for the WellChild Awards, the royal asked supporters to think of the exceptional people in their life.

"Each year, the WellChild Awards, in association with GSK, recognise and celebrate the growing number of young people with complex medical conditions from across the United Kingdom as well as those who go the extra mile to care for them," he said.

"They allow us to shine a spotlight on the remarkable stories of strength, resilience and courage that they demonstrate every single day."

Marking 20 years of the awards, the 40-year-old said, "It is a true privilege to honor the bravery and compassion of this incredible community."

He then asked the public to nominate the "exceptional people who inspire you every single day" ahead of the ceremony, which will be held later this year.

"Your support can make all the difference," he concluded.

The Duke of Sussex has been a patrol on WellChild since 2007, helping them raise money for young people with health needs that necessitate home care rather than in a hospital.

The plea comes on the heels of his "monumental victory" in his case against Rupert Murdoch's UK tabloids, who made an unprecedented apology for intruding in his life over decades and agreed to pay substantial damages to settle his privacy invasion lawsuit.

News Group Newspapers offered a "full and unequivocal apology to the Duke of Sussex for the serious intrusion by The Sun between 1996 and 2011 into his private life, including incidents of unlawful activities carried out by private investigators working for The Sun," attorney David Sherborne read from settlement statement in court.

The statement even went beyond the scope of the lawsuit to acknowledge intruding on the life of his mother, the late Princess Diana.
