The newly-married Duke and Duchess of Sussex are tipped to visit the Royal Randwick Racecourse in Sydney, later this year.

According to The Sydney Morning Herald’s Private Sydney column, there are plans in place to get Harry and Meghan trackside for The Everest race on October 13.

The Everest is the richest turf race, so it seems fitting that royalty should be in attendance.

Racing NSW boss, Peter V’Landys has confirmed negotiations to get the popular couple here are already quite advanced and a private suite has been secured.

Private Sydney revealed that the Prince was especially interested in a program where injured serviceman care for former race horses as part of their rehabilitation.

As Prince Harry will be attending the Invictus Games in Sydney on October 20, the timing seems impeccable.

The big question is whether the Duke and Duchess will follow in the steps of Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and take some time to enjoy a private holiday Down Under before commencing their royal duties.

The one thing we can be sure about is that if the royal pair do attend the races, it will be a fashion moment that stops the nation.
