The subtle symbolism in Meghan's 'farewell tour' outfits

Meghan Markle always looks stylish and chic no matter the occasion, but this week there's been an extra meaning behind all her outfit choices.

Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, are back in the UK and have been attending their final official appearances as senior royals. The Duchess has been paying homage to the country with her clothing, wearing red, blue, and white outfits.

Kate Middleton has employed a similar trick lately, touring Ireland in a series of green outfits.

Last week, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended The Endeavour Fund Awards in London as their first public appearance since announcing their plan to step back from the royal family. Meghan wowed crowds in a brilliant turquoise Victoria Beckham dress and navy Manolo Blahnik heels.

Then on Saturday, they both arrived at the Mountbatten Music Festival in bright red outfits, Meghan wearing a floor length red cape dress. Her shoes and clutch were the same shade of red, as was Prince Harry's Royal Navy uniform.

Rounding out the red, white, and blue of the Union Jack, Meghan briefly visited the National Theatre in London where she looked chic in an all-white shirt-and-pants combo. The Topshop organza blouse she wore has already completely sold out online.

Meghan also snuck in a visit to the Robert Clack Upper School in Dagenham where she addressed students ahead of International Women's Day, wearing another white shirt and jacket paired with black pants. She spoke about the importance of men supporting the women in their lives, encouraging them to "speak up for what is right".
