Prior to becoming a member of the royal family, Meghan Markle was a successful actress most well-known for her role on the popular television show Suits.

However, getting to that point wasn't easy for the Duchess of Sussex who spent quite a number of years booking as many jobs as she could, including a role as a briefcase girl on Deal or No Deal.

Now one of the many jobs she applied for has been revealed, and it was to be a model working for a rather controversial television host – Wendy Williams.

On a recent show, the presenter revealed Meghan applied for a job on The Wendy Williams Show, but apparently wasn't successful.

Having discussed the Duchess' recent debacle at Wimbledon over the alleged photo ban, Williams revealed Meghan's former job application to be on her show.

“She came here to be on one of our models. We do the fashion — things like that," she explained.

“This was before she met the man — the redhead — Harry, but Meghan knows Wendy's show, Meghan wanted to work here.”

Williams didn't make it clear when exactly the former actress applied for the royal, but it could be presumed it was before she landed her role as Rachel Zane on Suits.

The US television persona has been presenting The Wendy Williams Show since 2008, and has previously sparked some controversy having spoken about against the women involved in the R. Kelly sexual assault allegations. She has also accused the men involved in the controversial documentary, Leaving Neverland, about Michael Jackson of "lies".
