Kate and Meghan’s backgrounds to blame for ‘fab four’ split

The royal ‘fab four’ have gone their separate ways regarding their joint charity, with a royal commentator claiming the differences between the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex are to blame.

This week Kensington Palace confirmed that the Royal Foundation will be divided between the Cambridge’s and the Sussexes so the couples can focus on separate charity endeavours.

The Royal Foundation was established in 2009 to assist Prince William and Prince Harry in their charity endeavours and was used as the main channel of supporting their charitable grants.

Royal expert, Duncan Larcombe told The Sun, that he believes it could be the Duchesses’ backgrounds to blame for the friction between the couples.

"Kate fell into the royal family over a long period of time. Who would Kate be without Prince William? She certainly wouldn’t be well-known,” Larcombe says.

“Meghan without Harry would have been well-known, so she’s bound to have more opinions about her PR, how they promote themselves as a couple, what they do with their kids.”

Larcombe’s reasoning is that Markle, 37, being an ex-actress is keen to take control of her public image and as she already had stature, is keen to be fully involved.

“[Prince Harry and Meghan] are actively trying to create their own team,” he explains.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met as teenagers while still at university in 2011, when Kate was only 19 and married ten years later in 2011. Their love story is a vastly different from that of Harry, and the once-divorced Hollywood actress, Meghan – whom he met when she was 35 and married two years later.

The royal expert describes Meghan as “no shrinking violet” who isn’t going to “sit back” and follow Harry.
