The well-meaning advice from Prince William that caused ‘tension’ in the royal family

We’ve all heard it before: Duchesses Kate and Meghan are ‘feuding’. Or, wait – is it Prince William and Prince Harry who are feuding? Maybe Prince George and Princess Charlotte are feuding for all we know. 

One thing’s for sure: royal fans are dying to know the truth behind the rumours.

A snippet from a soon-to-be-released documentary called ‘Kate v. Meghan: Princesses at War?’ has shed some light on why royal watchers are convinced there’s tension in the family.

Royal commentator Katie Nicholl claims this fuss and bother started pretty innocently: with some well-intentioned brotherly advice from William to Harry when he began dating Meghan Markle.

Apparently concerned by how quickly the courtship was moving, the Duke of Cambridge asked his younger brother whether he was ‘sure’ about Meghan and their fast-paced relationship.

"I think what was meant as well-intended brotherly advice just riled Harry,” said Nicholl.

“Harry is hugely protective of Meghan. He saw that as criticism. He interpreted that as his brother not really being behind this marriage, this union, and I don't think things have been quite right ever since.”

However, the documentary clip suggests the rumoured tension had another source. Lady Colin Campbell, a royal biographer, blames it mostly on Harry’s ‘obsession’ with his wife.

"Everything I hear is that Harry is completely beguiled by Meghan and completely enthralled to her and has changed considerably. People do change when they get married," she said.

A final piece of evidence, the snippet claims, is that Harry used to visit his brother and sister-in-law on the ‘reg, often joining William and Kate for dinner at Kensington Palace. Yet after his marriage to Meghan, all of that stopped.

So maybe there really is a feud? Or maybe a more realistic explanation is that newly-wedded royal couples are simply too busy to meet up for dinner.
