The Instagram throwback that proves Kitty Spencer was destined for fashion royalty

Having legitimate royal connections didn’t hold Lady Kitty Spencer back from the childhood ritual of dressing up like a princess.
 
The 27-year-old niece of the late Princess Diana jumped aboard the “throwback Thursday” trend on Instagram, sharing a photo of herself as a youngster.
 
In the photo, Kitty is seen wearing a kid’s version of Belle’s iconic yellow gown from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast - an outfit worn by many a princess-mad little girl around the world.

“Mildly overdressed,” she captioned the shot.

It seems not much has changed in the years since the photo was taken.
 
Kitty - a cousin of Prince William and Prince Harry - can still be found rocking gorgeous princessy gowns, though they’re slightly more high-end these days.

An eye for fashion runs in Kitty’s blood; her mother was also a model, while her aunty Diana was world-renowned as a bona fide style icon before her death in 1997.

Tatler magazine also once dubbed Kitty one of England’s most eligible women, further cementing her status as a society woman to watch.

The emerald green outfit she wore to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding in May won plenty of praise, as did the floral dress she wore to another family wedding the following month.
 
Kitty has also been busy working as an ambassador for luxury goods brand Bulgari, attending various events and appearing in its latest campaign.

"It is an immense honour to be working with the most iconic Italian jewellery brand in the world," she wrote on Instagram last month.

The 27-year-old has also been out and about at plenty of high-profile events of late, including the famous summer parties thrown by London’s top art galleries and museums.
 
Looks like the cute Disney Princess dress that hung in Kitty’s wardrobe as a child - and her love of being “mildly overdressed” - was a sign of things to come.
