King Charles III and Camilla, Queen Consort lend voices to public transport announcements for coronation weekend
Commuters in London this weekend will be hearing two very special voices over the airwaves, with the soon-to-be crowned King Charles III and Camilla, Queen Consort recording a sweet message for public transport announcements.
The British royal family's Twitter account teased the announcement on Friday (Saturday in Australia) ahead of the historic event, writing: "Sound familiar? 📢👀 Listen out for Their Majesties on @TfL and @NetworkRail on your travels this #Coronation weekend… and don't forget to #MindTheGap."
"My wife and I wish you and your families a wonderful coronation weekend," Charles can be heard saying at the beginning of the message.

"Wherever you are travelling, we hope you have a safe and pleasant journey," Camilla continues.
Charles then concludes with: "And remember, please mind the gap."
According to a press release, the message was recorded by Charles and Camilla earlier this year in the comfort of their private residence, Highgrove House, in Gloucestershire, England.
The message will be heard across all 2570 rail stations across the United Kingdom and 270 London Underground stations from May 5 to May 8, covering the coronation weekend.

Jacqueline Starr, chief executive of the Rail Delivery Group, commented, "The Coronation is a rare and exciting event and we very much look forward to welcoming passengers with this special message.
"It's wonderful that their majesties are including rail passengers as part of this historic moment."
Royal fans agreed, with one saying, "That's a wonderful message from the King and Queen."
"No way, this is iconic," said another.

"We'll be listening out for those familiar voices this weekend!" said one excited fan.
"I love the lighter side of their Majesties coming through," another shared.
Some even wanted to keep hearing the King and the Queen Consort's voices long after the coronation.
"Keep the 'Mind The Gap' part of that after the coronation, that would be so nice having the King's voice telling us to mind the gap," one person requested.
