The touching tribute to Diana in Kate’s outfit we all missed

While it’s been nearly 22 years since Princess Diana’s tragic death, her sons and daughters-in-law continue to pay tribute to her in order to ensure her legacy lives on.

During Kate Middleton’s latest outing to Bletchley Park on Tuesday, she wore a £1,750 ($3,200 AUD) blue and white polkadot dress designed by Alessandra Rich.

But what many didn’t originally notice was that the Duchess of Cambridge’s choice of dress very closely resembled a dress Diana wore in 1985 for a photo shoot at Kensington Palace.

While most missed the 37-year-old’s subtle nod to Diana, there were some royal fans who spotted it and took to social media to share their thoughts. 

“Diana and Kate in almost the same dress,” one fan account said. “Diana and Kate in almost the same dress. Good taste goes never out of style!”

“I absolutely love all the ‘subtle’ tributes to Princess Diana,” another wrote. “She was beautiful, kind and loved by many.”

“Kate is all class… just like Diana!” one other added.

Meanwhile Diana’s other daughter-in-law, Meghan Markle, also recently paid tribute to the late princess on Instagram.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex released a new photo of newborn son Archie – or rather his teeny tiny feet – to mark Mother’s Day.

The caption accompanying the picture appeared to pay remembrance to Diana saying, “Paying tribute to all mothers today – past, present, mothers-to-be, and those lost but forever remembered. We honour and celebrate each and every one of you.”

The flowers in the featured in the background of Archie’s feet were Forget-Me-Nots, which were Diana’s favourites.
