Prince William attended the Diplomatic Corps Reception at Buckingham Palace alongside King Charles and Queen Camilla.

A highly formal event, attendees arrived in white tie and gathered to speak with the royal family and fellow diplomats.

The event, which unofficially marks the start of the festive season, is usually held in the first week of December, though it was scheduled earlier this year.

According to the Royal Collection Trust: "The invitation list is coordinated by the Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps, and invitations are sent to all ambassadors and high commissioners at foreign missions in London, as well as past Prime Ministers, the Archbishops of Canterbury and York, and other public figures."

This year's reception marks the second time King Charles and Queen Camilla have held it since their coronation in 2023.

The Princess of Wales did not attend the event alongside William, however it has been confirmed that Catherine will host her Together at Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey on December 6.

In a statement, Kensington Palace said this year's concert would provide "a moment to reflect upon the importance of love and empathy, and how much we need each other, especially in the most difficult times of our lives".

The Princess of Wales announced she was undergoing cancer treatment in a video message earlier this year. Her diagnosis was revealed following the "planned" abdominal surgery she underwent in January.
