Kate's photos of George, Charlotte and Louis all have this cute detail in common

Prince William and Kate Middleton have always been private people, but when it comes to their three children they've made a few exceptions.

Sharing touching family photos taken by Kate herself, the Cambridges have given royal fans some sweet glimpses into the young lives of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis over the years.

From the very first shot of George, to the most recent snaps of Louis, there has been one cute detail all the pictures have in common: hand-me-downs.

It may sound crazy that the royals, of all people, would recycle clothing, but Kate reportedly loves to pass clothes down from one child to the next, as demonstrated in many of her photos of the kids.

In almost every photo Kate has shared of her children, at least one Cambridge tot is wearing a hand-me-down, be it a knitted jumper or a pair of shoes.

Charlotte was spotted wearing George's shoes in one of the shots Kate shared for her daughter’s fourth birthday.

She was also wearing one of George's old sweaters in the first photos released of her and Louis, but she wasn't the only one in recycled clothes.

Louis was actually wearing a tiny knitted jumper Charlotte had worn in photos taken of her as a newborn with Prince George.

And Louis isn't just borrowing from his older sister, as he was wearing one of George's old jumpers in a photo Kate took of him playing recently.

The Duchess has been praised by both amateur and professional photographers for her sweet snaps of the kids, many commenting that she has an uncanny ability to catch the children at their most relaxed.

It probably has something to do with her being their mum, but Kate’s talent also shines through in her framing and the way she shoots the kids in natural light.

Her recycling of the kids' clothes should come as no surprise, as it's something Kate has been known to do as well, the Duchess of Cambridge standing out as one of the few royal ladies who wears outfits multiple times.
