An animated series about Prince George and the royals is coming

An animated comedy series about the British royal family is heading our way.

It was announced on Wednesday that HBO Max has ordered the satirical series, titled 'The Prince', which will be told from Prince George's perspective.

The show, to be produced by 20th Century Fox, comes from Gary Janetti, and will be based upon Janetti's popular and hilarious royal-related Instagram posts.

"I'm thrilled to be working at HBO Max and bringing them yet another series about a family ruthlessly fighting for the throne," Janetti, a writer and executive producer, told the New York Post.

The series will take a look at the royal family through the eyes of Prince George, the eldest son of Prince William and Catherine Middleton.

George is portrayed on Janetti's Instagram page as a sassy, flamboyant and opinionated character, so one can only imagine the comedy gold Janetti will produce within an animated series.

Janetti is no stranger to TV, with writing credits in shows such as Family Guy and Will and Grace. He was also a co-creator of the series 'Vicious.'

Janetti will voice George, and will be joined by a star-studded cast.

Orlando Bloom as Prince Harry, Condola Rashad as Meghan Markle, Lucy Punch as Kate Middleton, Tom Hollander as both Prince Philip and Prince Charles, Alan Cumming as George's butler, Frances De La Tour as Queen Elizabeth, and Iwan Rheon as Prince William.

Head of original content for HBO Max Sarah Aubrey says the company is 'excited' to bring Janetti's Instagram to life.

"We're so excited to bring the world Gary's created on Instagram over to HBO Max, where our viewers can discover what his Instagram fans already know – that George can be hilarious, shocking, and surprisingly sweet," Aubrey told the New York Post.

"We can't wait to see what Gary does with a bigger canvas to paint on than just a 1:1 square."

One thing is certain: Janetti will have plenty of material to work with after the shock royal exit of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle — two members of the family which Janetti often pokes fun at on his Instagram page.
