Hanover royal couple welcome baby boy

If there’s anything that can brighten up a gloomy Sunday morning, it’s the fact that there’s a new royal baby to spend a few aimless hours Googling and cooing over.

Prince Ernst August and Princess Ekaterina of Hanover have welcomed their second child into the royal family on Thursday, just over a year after giving birth to the first little royal, Princess Elisabeth.

Prince Ernst August is the stepson of Princess Caroline of Monaco, and Ekaterina was a designer and filmmaker. The couple married in a lavish ceremony in Hanover in 2017, and the pair are clearly loved up as they continue to grow they gorgeous family.

Not everything has been easy-going with the Hanover royal family in the past, however, as Ernst August Senior, who is Princess Caroline's estranged husband - publicly stating concerns about potential adverse impacts on family assets if his son were to marry Ekaterina. This meant that he didn't attend his son's wedding due to the financial dispute.

With Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle due to give birth at the end of April, it seems like royal families the world over are experiencing baby fever – and we definitely aren’t complaining.
