Grumpy bridesmaid steals the show in Lady Gabriella Windsor’s official wedding photos

If we cast our minds back to 2011 when Prince William and Kate Middleton tied the knot, the couple had a young bridesmaid who wasn’t too pleased to be there.

Now, thanks to the latest royal wedding, it seems we have a grumpy bridesmaid 2.0. Enter: Aurelia del Drago.

In the official photos from Lady Gabriella Windsor’s wedding to Thomas Kingston, released by the royal family, the newlywed couple pose in the gardens of Frogmore House on the Windsor estate with their bridesmaids and pageboys.

However, in one particular portrait Aurelia looks less than happy to be there.

The little girl can be seen clutching her bouquet and offering quite a bit of a scowl to the camera.

Standing next to her is the bride and groom who are both grinning from ear-to-ear, as are the other bridesmaids and pageboys.

However, in another photograph taken inside with members of the royal family, including the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh, Aurelia appeared to be much more in her comfort zone.

Sitting on the floor between two page boys, Frederick Murray and Rafferty Murray, Aurelia flashed a bright smile for the camera.

As well as Her Majesty and Prince Philip, Lady Gabriella’s parents Prince and Princess Michael of Kent appeared in the photo, along with her brother Lord Frederick Windsor and his wife and Princess Alexandra, who is a paternal first cousin of the monarch.

This isn’t the first time a less-than-impressed bridesmaid has threatened to upstage a royal couple.

Eight years ago, following their wedding ceremony, the new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared a kiss on the balcony of Buckingham Palace in front of the adoring crowds.

While it was an iconic moment, there was a member of the bridal party who did manage to steal a bit of the bride and groom’s thunder – bridesmaid Grace van Cutsem.

As people cheered for the newly married royal couple, Grace had some different thoughts.

The then-three-year-old scowled and covered her ears in dismay, and clearly wasn’t happy to be on the balcony for the first kiss.

Ah, little kids—you just never know what to expect with them.
