The internet is obsessed with the Queen's model pose - and her pockets

Royal fans are losing their minds after a new, unusually candid picture of Queen Elizabeth II was released earlier this week.

The photo was published in Hello! magazine for the release of the Queen's dressmaker Angela Kelly's book, The Other Side of the Coin: The Queen, the Dresser and the Wardrobe.

The image shows Her Majesty looking significantly less formal than we're used to seeing her.

The 93-year-old usually is photographed in more conservative poses, but in this image she looks far more relaxed, with a big smile on her face and her hands in her pockets.

The image was shared on social media, immediately sending users wild.

"I like this photo of her looking relaxed and happy. Different to years ago when she always looked glum" one user wrote, with many agreeing.

It was Kelly who suggested the Queen pose with her hands in her pockets, with Her Royal Highness jumping on board almost immediately.

"Her Majesty took her position in front of the lens and started striking a series of poses, slipping her hands in and out of her pockets and placing them onto her hips, mimicking the stances of a professional model," the author told Hello!.

However the Royal Collection, who published Kelly's book, were worried the image was 'too modern' for the royal supporters.

The Queen posing like a well-seasoned model was one thing, but the fact she was wearing a dress with pockets — something of a fashion Holy Grail — captivated a lot of fans.

"The Queen excitedly showing off the fact her dress has pockets is such a mood," one Twitter user said, with another agreeing: "'Even the Queen gets excited about pockets".

Some royal fans just found the image downright relatable.
