Sarah Ferguson shares photos from Royal Lodge garden during self isolation in Windsor

Like the rest of the UK, the royal family is in lockdown — though the properties in which its members are self-isolating tend to be a little grander than the average home.

Not far from Windsor Castle, Sarah Ferguson is bunkered down at home in the Royal Lodge with ex-husband Prince Andrew and their youngest daughter Princess Eugenie.

Situated in Windsor Great Park, the residence — the York family's official home since 2004 — is certainly a picturesque place to spend lockdown, as the Duchess' Instagram photos demonstrate.

Sarah shared a series of of her sprawling garden over the weekend, with a positive message for her followers.

"Nature will show us the way forward, the shadow highlights the light," she captioned one post.

"An horizon is just the limits of our sights, we will trust and we will stand with courage and support in deep gratitude, for brighter horizons."

Another post featured a photo new flower buds emerging, as spring is now getting underway in the northern hemisphere.

"New buds, new hope, new courage..." Sarah wrote.

It seems the Duchess has continuously been looking to nature for inspiration throughout the coronavirus pandemic, which has claimed almost 5000 lives in the UK.

In late March, Sarah mused that Mother Nature had "sent us to our rooms like the spoilt children we are" and that there will be lessons to be learned.

"She gave us time and she gave us warnings. She was so patient with us. She gave us fire and floods, she tried to warn us but in the end she took back control," she wrote, sharing another photo from her garden.

"She has sent us to our rooms and when she is finished clearing up our mess. She will let us out to play again. How will we use this time?"

During her time in lockdown, the Duchess has also been supporting healthcare workers who are working on the frontlines of the pandemic.

A recent photo showed Sarah loading 100kg of pastries and baked goods into a car alongside Princess Eugenie, with the treats destined for London hospital staff.

The Yorks have also been sending fruit and vegetable boxes to frontline workers.

Despite taking precautions, the royal family has been touched by coronavirus, with Prince Charles diagnosed with the virus last month.

The prince was deemed in good health the following week, and approved to come out of self-isolation by his doctors.
